It doesn’t matter if the PNC Championship is a family event, or if it’s a stampede, or if everyone is in the holiday spirit. No one at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Fla., plays to lose.
Especially on Sunday, when the final round is played.
Said pro Nick Price Saturday afternoon: “Last year we came last and that kind of put a firecracker in our backs.”
His son Greg Price said: “It didn’t feel good.”
Nick Price said: “I told Greg he wasn’t very happy after the last round last year, and I said, well, it’s got to sting. If it stings, you know you care. So this year it’s different. I said we put our smiles on our faces, go play golf and have fun. That’s the real key.”

Then there are the Kuchars. A journalist asked pro Mast and his son Cameron about their “level of desire to win,” which prompted these responses:
Cameron said: “High.”
Matt said, “We felt like we couldn’t walk away with the title belts. It’s super cool. Cam had his eye on these things for a while. You know, our family, certainly the competition is strong, and to be in an event like this is definitely an amazing experience. Kind of win, lose or draw, you know, it’s just a great week, but a bonus if you can come out on top and take home the father/son title.”
As of Sunday, the Kuchars lead the PNC by two points. John Daly and his son, John Daly IIand they will play last, at 11:27. Three groups are three behind the head and five groups are four behind.

PNC television coverage begins at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, then moves to Peacock at 12:30 p.m., before switching to NBC starting at 1:30 p.m.
