The first round of the NBA 2025 draft is officially in books. As expected, the Dallas Mavericks selected Duke Superstar Cooper Flagg Wednesday evening with the overall choice n ° 1, and the San Antonio Spurs followed by taking the Rutgers goalkeeper Dylan Harper – the second best consensual player in the class.
The drama of the draft began with the 76ers of Philadelphia, the holders of choice n ° 3. Although it was speculated in the weeks preceding the pre-treatment process that this could be a potential landing point for Rutgers Advan Ace Bailey, the 76ers went with Baylor Wing Vj Edgecombe.
The first real surprise of the draft came two choices later when Utah Jazz selected Bailey at No. 5. Bailey would not have worked with a team during the predraft process, but jazz decided to choose it anyway.
Like most drafts, there were trades, lifetters and tombers. A surprising rising column was the Portland Trail Blazers which selected the Yang Hansen Center outside China with the choice n ° 16 despite that it is a second planned round. The guardian of the Illinois Kasparas Jakučionis – a choice of projected lottery – slipped to the Miami Heat at n ° 20. Uconn striker Liam McNeeley was selected with the overall choice n ° 29 by the Charlotte Hornets after having also projected as a choice of lottery.
The Brooklyn Nets have marked history as the first team to make five choices in the first round. The nets started the fireworks by selecting the goalkeeper of Byu Egor Demin at No. 8. The Brooklyn final selection was the center of Michigan Danny Wolf at n ° 27.
The second round of the draft is scheduled for Thursday at 8 p.m. HE at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Jazz takes a swing on an ace
The biggest surprise (early) of the night came when jazz selected Bailey at n ° 5. In the days preceding the draft, Washington at No. 6 was considered as the probable landing point of Bailey, but this was never materialized because UTAH selected it first. Bailey is a polarizing perspective, and it’s worth the swing for a Utah team that needs to score and talent. As for the second selection of Utah – Florida Walter Clayton Jr. – this choice was a home run. Clayton was the best university basketball goalkeeper last season. He will bring the scoring and his clutch gene to UTAH. Jazz was one of the winners of the first round. – Salt
First year students link the record for the sequence of the CAL coach ends
Before the week, the record for the most first -year -old students taken in the Lottery part of the Restchage was 11 (2017). The record was tied Wednesday when the San Antonio Spurs selected the Arizona Wing Carter Bryant with the last choice at the lottery. The lottery chooses this year: 11 first -year students, a second year student, a higher class and an international player.
On a different note, the sequence of players from the Arkansas coach John Calipari ended in the first round. Calipari had produced a choice of first round in each project since 2008. The prospect of the Calipari recovery this year is Avant Adou Thiero, who will have to wait until day 2 to hear his name called. – Salt
Pelicans show no fear
New Orleans has made a significant swing on a potential franchise guard by taking the fears of Jeremiah n ° 7 on the whole one day after exchanging against Jordan Poole. The fears entered the draft at n ° 11 in total in the classification of the prospects of the draft of the NBA CBS and as one of the most polarizing players in the range of projected lottery. But the Pelican pointed out that they had no fear about the size of the fears.
The old slender but electric star of Oklahoma is a maestro in the living room with an elite burst that allows him to sink the opposing defenses. The appearance of fears with Poole could be interesting in the coming season, because the two are from the smallest and accustomed to the predominantly roles. But the offensive increase in fears is abundant, and New Orleans needed another presence in the rear area. – Cobb
