Less than three weeks before the start of the 2024 NBA Draftplayers undergo private and group workouts while teams do due diligence to refine their draft boards.
Throughout the pre-draft process leading up to the two-day draft (June 26-27) in Brooklyn, New York, most teams and managers have considerable work ahead of them, and this week’s news has not not really solidified many of the board projects either.
On Wednesday, ESPN reported that projected top 10 pick Nikola Topic had a partially torn ACL. The matter will soon be evaluated by NBA team doctors, who will decide the next course of action regarding the surgery and a plan for the future.
And on Thursday, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski that the the Los Angeles Lakers target UConn men’s basketball coach Dan Hurley the next coach of the franchise — a decision that could impact the Lakers’ decisions in the first and second rounds. (Bronny Jamesmaybe?)
Draft experts Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo took recent news, as well as insights from teams and players evaluating these all-important workouts, into account for ESPN’s Top 100 Big Board.
