2024 NBA All-Star Game final score, results: Damian Lillard leads East past West in record fashion

The 2024 NBA All-Star Game has made history.

The NBA returned to the original East vs. West format with four 12-minute quarters, looking to bring some purity back to the world’s greatest pickup game.

The format has not changed much since the East’s 211-186 victory represents the most memorable All-Star Game in NBA history. No team had ever crossed the 200-point threshold and the combined 397 points were 23 more than the previous record set in 2017. East’s 42 3-pointers also set an All-Star Game record.

Damian Lillard led the charge for the East, scoring 39 points on 11 3-pointers to win the Kobe Bryant All-Star Game MVP trophy. Pacers hometown hero Tyrese Haliburton had a strong run at the MVP trophy, collecting 32 points.

Karl-Anthony Towns put up a big scoring total late in the game, finishing with 50 points to lead the West.

10:51 p.m.: And your All-Star Game MVP goes to… Damian Lillard!

10:47 p.m.: The scoring barrage ended with the East facing the West, 211-186.

Damian Lillard’s 39 points, Jaylen Brown’s 36 points and Tyrese Haliburton’s 32 points lead the East to victory. Karl-Anthony Towns quietly racked up 50 points for the West while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 31 points.

Lillard left us the parting gift of another half-court shot.

10:43 p.m.: And we officially have the highest-scoring All-Star Game in NBA history. The East leads the West 203-108 with just over a minute to play.

10:37 p.m.: Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic are the two best friends anyone could have.

10:36 p.m.: The East is running away with this game, leading the West 188-166 with 4:37 left. The East set an All-Star Game record with 37 3-pointers.

10:26 p.m.: Before you can seemingly blink, Karl-Anthony Towns is up to 30 points off the bench for the West while Jaylen Brown has 26 points off the bench in the East. A little moment for two of the game’s unsung heroes.

End of third quarter: East 160, West 136

10:12 p.m.: East’s 3-point shooting quickly turned this event into a lopsided one. The East made 33 3-pointers, just two shy of the all-time All-Star Game record set by Team LeBron in 2019.

Damian Lillard has 33 points on nine 3-pointers. Tyrese Haliburton has 24 points on eight 3-pointers. This looks like a battle between these two for the All-Star Game MVP heading into the final quarter.

10:02 p.m.: DAMIAN LILLARD 41 FEET!

10:01 p.m.: Luka Doncic received a score of 47.8 from the Slam Dunk Contest judges for this attempt:

10:01 p.m.: LeBron James has jokes for the youngsters on the West bench.

9:59 p.m.: The East rains 3s. Damian Lillard, Tyrese Haliburton and Jayson Tatum all had two triples each for extend the East’s lead by more than 20 points to 127-105.

9:56 p.m.: The king. Timeless.

Halftime: East 104, West 89

9:33 p.m.: The East built a comfortable lead in the first half, but the West was still within striking distance.

The East has six players with double-digit scoring. Damian Lillard’s 22 points led the way, followed by Tyrese Haliburton (18), Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, who all had 12 points. Stephen Curry begins to warm up for the West with 12 points on four 3-pointers.

The defense is… nowhere to be found, as you would expect. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing!

9:31 p.m.: Luka Doncic apparently wanted the 2 for 1.

9:30 p.m.: Damian Lillard is aiming for the MVP title, ladies and gentlemen. He totaled 22 points, a game high. The East leads the West 99-84.

9:28 p.m.: Kevin Durant gets his revenge on Damian Lillard by hitting him with what we’d like to call the “too small” taunt – a lower level of disrespect than the usual “too small” taunt.

9:22 p.m.: Trae Young receives his former idol Kevin Durant with a nutmeg and a bucket!

9:14 p.m.: The East went on an 11-0 run early in the second period to open the scoring, with Tyrese Maxey scoring 10 quick points off the bench. The East leads the West 70-54.

End of first quarter: East 53, West 47

9:06 p.m.: A quarter down and the defense is starting to falter. Both teams are shooting over 50 percent from the field as the East takes a 53-47 lead over the West. The East is hot at 3 points, making 13 triples to five for the West.

9:04 p.m.: Stephen Curry meets Paolo Banchero at the edge and makes a block! Then Devin Booker does his best Patrick Mahomes impersonation and finds Anthony Edwards deep for a pass and a full-court layup.

8:58 p.m.: Everyone does a little bit of scoring in this one early on. While Tyrese Haliburton’s 15 points still lead the East, the West has five players with at least six points. Kevin Durant and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander have seven points each while East leads West 43-41 with 2:22 left in the first.

8:55 p.m.: LeBron James does one of his signature tomahawk dunks in transition and Damian Lillard responds with one of his iconic 3-pointers the other way. The best in the league are doing what they do best.

8:46 p.m.: Tyrese Haliburton is engulfed in flames. The Pacers star is at home, burying five straight 3-pointers for 15 quick points. He draws double teams four minutes after the start of the All-Star Game while the The East takes a 25-22 lead over the West.

8:43 p.m.: We’re on our way as Giannis Antetokounmpo finds Jayson Tatum in the corner for a 3-pointer to kick off.

Pre-match

8:35 p.m.: Hold on, NBA fans. The alert is almost here and presentations are underway. Meet your All-Stars from the East and West!

8:19 p.m.: While you wait for news, take a trip down memory lane as LeBron James prepares to play in his 20th NBA All-Star Game.

7:25 p.m.: Shaquille O’Neal wants Tyrese Haliburton to play selfishly and go for the All-Star Game MVP in his team’s hometown.

7:00 p.m.: Giannis Antetokounmpo gets a little help from his son as he warms up for the All-Star Game.

6:40 p.m.: The West All-Stars are in the building and in uniform.
