The 2023 ATP Next Gen Finals in Jeddah are approaching, and we now know which players will compete in the group stage thanks to the draw.

The format of the Next Gen ATP Finals mimics that of the ATP Finals. There are two groups of four players, after which we have the semi-finals and then the final.

In this year’s finals, the groups were named Red Group and Green Group. In the red group, there is Luca Van Ascche, Alex Michelsen, Hamad Medjedovic and wild card Abedllah Shelbayh.

In the green group, Arthur, Son, Dominic Stricker, Flavio Cobolli and Luca Nardi will fight for a place in the semi-finals. This year’s final should be quite interesting as there is only one player who played in the previous edition.

The player who competed last year is the Swiss Stricker, but he is still not the big favorite for the event. Some of these players have more experience like Son who is ranked in the Top 50 and is certainly one of the favorites.

It is also the first time that the event has not taken place in Milan, which has hosted the competition since its debut a few years ago. It is also the first time that an official ATP event has been held in Saudi Arabia, a hugely controversial subject before this year.

More events will follow in the future, but first let’s see how this first one actually plays out. The game starts on November 28 and this will actually be the last event of this year. Do not despair because tennis will not disappear for a very long time since the sport resumes quite quickly in a few weeks with a series of exhibitions.

One of them will take place in Saudi Arabia with Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz set to face off.
