Chicago Fire starlet Brian Gutiérrez has completed his move to Liga MX giants Chivas for a “multi-million dollar transfer fee”.
The 22-year-old was under contract with the Fire until 2028 after coming through the youth ranks, but his recent acquisition of a Mexican passport has made him one of the top candidates to move south of the border.

Gutiérrez has 21 goals and 25 assists in 164 appearances for Chicago, also earning playing time with the United States men’s national team in 2025.
However, he remains eligible to represent Mexico, a possibility that has become realistic since he obtained Mexican citizenship.
Chivas finished Liga MX in the Apertura 2025 season before ultimately losing to Cruz Azul in the quarterfinals of the league playoffs.
