Many Oxford United fans were surprised when news broke on Sunday afternoon that the club had parted ways with head coach Des Buckingham.
The Oxford-born U’s fan, who began his coaching journey at Kassam as a teenager, was removed from office after 13 months at the helm following a home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday the previous afternoon.
