On a night when Inter Miami looked almost certain to set a new points record, goalie Drake Callender’s mistake highlighted what could have been a horrible first half for the Herons.
Already down to zero after New England opened the scoring in the second minute through Luca Langoni, Miami’s deficit was doubled after Callender committed one of the cardinal sins for a goalkeeper when the effort Dylan Borrero’s tame miss missed his legs to make it 2-0 in the 35th minute.
But Uruguayan legend Luis Suárez had other ideas.
