A handful of links from the Bath of 16 of the Concacaf Champions Cup were installed on Tuesday evening, and there was a lot of drama offered.
This is what happened in the park.
Tigers FC 3-1 Cincinnati
Scorers: Herrera 64 ‘, Brunetta 69’, Ibañez 73 ‘; Evander 18 ‘
After a winter of major investment in the team, Cincinnati entered the hope of making a statement, and they made it within the first 20 minutes when the New Garçon Evander finished a great team to open the score.
But after the break, the Ohio visitors collapsed under the pressure of El Volcán, while Tigres breathed them with three goals in nine minutes to move well and really in equality.
After Ozziel Herrera put the level of Levelleur, it was followed by goals from Juan Brunetta and Nicolas Ibañez to make the local crowd light.
Columbus crew 2-1 Lafc
Scorers: Russell-Rowe 10 ‘, Rossi (p) 45’; Bouanga 90 + 5 ‘
Despite being late in three on aggregate, Columbus started the match clearly under tension, and they made hay in 10 minutes when Jacen Russell-Rowe opened the scoring.
It went from good to big minutes of half -time when Diego Rossi reduced the advance of Lafc to one of the penalty – the return was indeed lit.
The crew looked all except nailed to pull the level in the second half, and they might have had when Max Arfsteten pulled a shot from the range at close range at the back, but Hugo Lloris succeeded in a superb backup to keep his side.
This moment seemed to swing from the momentum while LaFC moved away from the counterattack in time of time and put its crucial objective outside thanks to Denis Bouanga.
Lafc will now turn their attention to a power test in the quarter -finals with the winner of Inter Miami and Cavalier Thursday evening.
Cruz Azul 4-1 Seattle Sounders
Scorers: Rodríguez 33 ‘, Sepúlveda (p) 71’, Romero 85 ‘, Sánchez 89’; Musovski 75 ‘
Cruz Azul cemented its place in the quarter -finals with a solid victory on one side of the Spenders of Seattle.
It was roughly the worst opening interval that you could imagine for visitors to the North West Pacific.
After Carlos Rodríguez broke the deadlock in a first close first half to give Cruz Azul the advance on the whole, the Star of Seattle, Paul Arriola, took place with what seemed to be a serious knee injury.
To make matters worse, the Sounders, Jordan Morris drink with a deep injury in the second half, a few minutes before Ángel Sepúlveda put the hosts two from the front of the square.
However, he became nervous for the crowd in the dying minutes, while Danny Musovski came out of the bench to draw one for the Sounders.
All the hopes of return were destroyed in the last minutes when Cruz Azul won late goals to kill the draw.
